Renault is set to unveil the prototype of its Twingo E-Tech at the Paris Motor Show 2024, marking its first public appearance since its announcement in November 2023. From October 14th to 20th, attendees at the international motor show will have the opportunity to experience this electric show car up close before it enters production and becomes available in 2026. This exciting reveal follows closely behind the introduction of the retro-futuristic R17 restomod coupe, showcasing Renault‘s innovative spirit.
The Twingo E-Tech pays homage to its roots, with the original model first hitting the streets in 1992, adorned in vibrant monochrome hues. While the new iteration retains that signature boldness, it now boasts a lush green finish that shimmers under the light. Visitors to the Paris Motor Show 2024 will be treated to a glimpse of the various enhancements Renault has made to this electric vehicle, particularly its striking front design.

The front of the Twingo E-Tech features an expressive face, characterized by round headlights with floating LED rings that contribute to its cheerful demeanor. The design evokes a sense of playfulness, as the rounded headlamps give the impression that the car is smiling, and it even appears to ‘wink’ when one of the lights is turned off. This design choice draws inspiration from the first generation of Twingo, reflecting Renault’s commitment to honoring its legacy.

In addition to the distinctive headlamps, the prototype showcases a rounded frame that harmonizes with the advanced technologies integrated within. The circular door handles are another nod to the classic 1992 model, now enhanced with illuminated rims to guide users in low-light conditions. Above, a generously sized glass roof invites natural light into the cabin, providing both drivers and passengers with stunning views of the world outside.

The visual details surrounding the Twingo E-Tech are striking, particularly in its rear design, which pays homage to the classic model’s tail. To infuse a modern touch into this electric vehicle, Renault has added a sleek black rim around the rear windshield. The taillights, which protrude elegantly, mirror the shape of the front headlamps, creating a cohesive look that enhances the car’s overall aesthetic.

On the car’s hood, three small openings on either side facilitate airflow to and from the motor, adding both functionality and flair. As of the time of this publication, the Twingo E-Tech is showcased as an electric prototype at the Paris Motor Show 2024. Renault has announced that the production model is expected to hit the market in 2026, with a starting price projected to be under 20,000 EUR.
